Kimberley Lass (Heidi)
Heidi is very sadly for sale, after giving my two boys 5 years of huge fun. She’s a very fit & sound 17 years young, 12 hands Dun Irish mare (we suspect she's a connie or connie X). She's never been sick or sorry, or had any other health issues,
She's very forward going so would suit a small but confident rider, someone looking to get started out competing but already established & secure in their riding, she's very forgiving, and has been brilliant for both my sons (one of whom was a bit of a worrier) but she's not a first pony or a pony for the lead rein. She knows her job & loves doing it, so a home with lots going on would be good
Heidi has done everything at Pony Club, including Junior Camp, as well as hunting & pony racing. She's very forward going, but not at all silly or sharp, She happily jumps up to about 50-60cm, bigger with a more capable child, & has also previously done mounted games.
She'd has taken my previously nervous younger son from being reluctant to canter to winning pony races,
She's completely bombproof to hack alone & in company, including cantering through woods and on farm rides, she's ridden in a waterford snaffle, she doesn't pull or barge, she's very easy to do in the stable & my children have been able to do everything with her on their own, she travels really well & regularly acts as a 'lorry monitor' for my horses!
She's hunted and is utterly trust worthy, i've never had to worry about what my son was doing or where he'd vanished to with his friends.
Most recently she has given my youngest son endless fun pony racing, with the following results
Beverley PC Novice 2018: 1st
Lingfield PC Open 2018: 3rd
Horsehealth 128 Open (P2P): 5th
Cheltenham PC Open: 3rd
Haydock PC intermediate: 2nd
She's good to clip, load & travel, with the farrier & in traffic, she hacks out on her own or in company, and is good to be lead off another horse, she’s sensible at race meetings, and going to the start. She's hogged because we bought her like that & when we decided to grow it out it just didn't suit her, so we hogged her again, (& it saves plaiting!)
While she's never going to be the fastest 128 in the country, last year she was 4th in the Pony Club points table, so will give anyone wanting to start pony racing a huge amount of fun. She’s like an overgrown labrador to do at home, super easy in every way. we bought her when my eldest was 7 & they've both had so much fun with her.
She’s only for sale as my youngest has just moved onto bigger racing pony
i'd also consider a loan with view to buy to the right home
Price includes bridle & rugs (saddle available separately)
