Description
Sale of much loved first pony.
Max is a 19-year-old 12.2h registered Part Bred Welsh chestnut liver gelding.
He is an excellent lead rein pony, very good in traffic, and would be well suited as a first pony. Max has seen our daughter through from when she was 7 years old and he has been her first and second pony. Now, 6 years later, she has now outgrown him and Max has taken her from lead rein to flatwork and small jumps, although now he would probably be more suitable as a first pony/flatwork type. In the school, his natural setting is ‘kick-along’.
That said, he is still perfectly capable of jumping and (was doing 40cm last winter), but we do not want him to be passed from pillar to post once he leaves us due to his new jockey outgrowing him too quickly, so he would also be suitable for a young, gutsy rider coming off lead rein. Flatwork and jumping vids are available through WhatsApp.
His dental work, vaccination, and clipping are now done under one sedation as he doesn’t like clippers - that said, he was only clipped in the winter when he was worked quite hard and needed a trace to help him cool down.
He loads and travels well. He is barefoot and comes with boots for his fronts if needed, but we haven’t used these for serval years now. Tack and rugs included.
As stated, Max is being sold due to our daughter outgrowing him and the arrival of her new pony. We did consider keeping him as a companion, but Max has a lot still to offer a young rider as a first pony.
This will be a difficult sale so homes will be vetted and he does require a shelter and would prefer horsey friends if possible.
